Transformer Demagnetizer

The transformer’s magnetic core may become magnetized as a result of DC current testing (such as winding resistance measurement), or when the transformer is taken out of service. In order to avoid problems such as the incorrect operation of protective relays, high inrush currents, or erroneous diagnostics, it is recommended to perform demagnetization to eliminate this source of potential problems.

Upon completion of the demagnetization process, instruments provide information about the initial and remanent magnetism, proving that the transformer is successfully demagnetized.
