Suez awarded water consultancy contract in Saudi Arabia

French firm Suez will assist National Water Company (NWC) to work on a strategy for reducing non-revenue water across different areas of Saudi Arabia

France’s Suez has been awarded a two-year consultancy contract by Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) for services related to non-revenue water management.

The contract will involve supporting NWC to reduce non-revenue water in specific areas across the country by introducing best practices and improving performance of the water sector.

Suez will assess the current non-revenue water across the kingdom, and propose specific action plans for different geographic areas. This will include a focus on improving reporting and management practices with a focus on training and capacity building.

“We are very honoured of National Water Company renewed trust after a successful nine-year partnership that began in 2008 to modernize water and sanitation services in Jeddah and improve the quality of service provided to users. With this new contract, SUEZ will bring international best practices to support the country in achieving its ambitious targets in terms of water losses reduction while preserving the environmental capital,” Cyril Courjaret, CEO of Suez for Middle East & Central Asia, was quoted in a press release about the contract.
