Germany’s Siemens Energy has been awarded a contract to supply new electric motor driven compressors for Saudi Aramco’s Tanajib plant facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Siemens Energy will provide a total of 21 compressor trains for the project, which will be used for several gas treatment plant compression services including high pressure (HP), high-high pressure (HHP) inkection, sales gas, refrigerant and sour off-gas.

Siemens Energy was awarded the contract by Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas, which was awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Marjan onshore packages 9 and 11 in 2020.

The packaging of the compressor trains will be completed at Siemens Energy’s Dammam manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia.

“The order will be assembled and packaged at the Siemens Dammam Energy Hub, which is a testament to our commitment to localizing the energy value chain in Saudi Arabia,” said Mahmoud Sulaimani, Managing Director of Siemens Energy in Saudi Arabia.

Siemens Energy has previously provided compressor trains for Saudi Aramco’s Hawiyah Unayzah gas reservoir storage (HUGRS) project.
