Khalid al-Qubaisi has been appointed as the new CEO of Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES), the group’s parent company Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) has revealed.

Al-Qubaisi previously worked in several management positions at Mubadala Investment Company, most recently as vice president of information, communication and technology.

ADES is responsible for retrofitting government and commercial buildings by identifying, sourcing and funding solutions to reduce electricity and water consumption.

“I am excited to lead ADES amid an evolving landscape for Abu Dhabi’s energy efficiency sector. ADES will continue to build energy services offerings in the Emirate, and further leverage our skills and expertise to enable commercial and industrial clients to realise sustainability ambitions. The team has laid the groundwork for significant growth and I look forward to working with our clients to future-proof their facilities toward a net-zero future,” Al-Qubaisi said following his appointment.

ADES recently signed a series of memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with Abu Dhabi government entities including the Department of Culture and Tourism, the UAE University and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) with the aim of retrofitting their facilities to reduce power and water consumption in line with Abu Dhabi’s Demand Side Management and Rationalisation Strategy 2030.
