Italy’s Enel forms renewables joint venture with Qatar sovereign wealth fund
Italy’s Enel Green Power, part of Enel, has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) to develop and own clean energy projects in Africa.
Italy’s Enel Green Power, part of Enel, has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) to develop and own clean energy projects in Africa.
QIA will acquire 50 per cent stake in 800MW of capacity in four renewable energy projects built or under construction by Enel in South Africa and Zambia. The JV plans to develop more renewable energy projects across the African continent in the future.
Enel Green Power will retain its holdings in more than 500MW of wind and solar projects in South Africa, the Italian group revealed following the announcement of the JV.
