Engie signs agreement with Saudi Arabia’s GCC-lab

French energy firm Engie has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia-based GCC-Lab to provide services in the GCC’s power sector.

French energy firm Engie has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia-based GCC-Lab to provide services in the GCC’s power sector.

GCC-lab is a laboratory based in Riyadh which provides electricity testing for high voltage and low voltage electrical equipment in the GCC.

The services covered under the MoU include:

• Oil testing • Cyber security • Multi-disciplinary root cause failure analysis • Alarm management • Emission reduction services • Electromagnetic compatibility • Lighting testing lab • Maintenance interval services • Power plant water chemistry • Materials and non-destructive testing • Turbo machinery

The MoU also contains provisions for the parties to co-invest in a non-polymer additive manufacturing and vibration monitoring command centre in the kingdom. The two parties are also planning to work together on smart home and smart grid projects to reduce demand-side energy usage across the country.
