EliTe Solar to Build 8GW Solar Manufacturing Hub in Egypt

EliTe Solar will invest $150M to build an 8GW solar manufacturing hub in Egypt’s Suez Zone, boosting exports and creating jobs.

EliTe Solar, a Singapore-based company specialising in integrated solar manufacturing solutions, has announced a major project in Egypt. The company will build an 8GW solar manufacturing hub in the Suez Special Economic Zone. This strategic decision follows high-level talks with Egypt’s Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Suez Special Economic Zone. The hub will focus on producing high-efficiency solar cells and modules.

A Major Investment in Solar Energy in Egypt

As Egypt continues advancing in renewable energy projects, EliTe Solar plans to invest $150 million in this project. The facility will span 78,000 square metres with the company developing it over two phases. The first phase features a 2GW solar cell production line and is due for completion by September 2025. Once the facility is fully operational, it will generate over a projected $190 million in annual sales. It will also have a production capacity of 8GW.

Why is Egypt ideal for solar manufacturing?

The Suez Special Economic Zone offers EliTe Solar a strategic location. It provides easy access to key markets like North America, Europe, and Africa. Egypt’s positioning as a gateway to these regions makes it an ideal location for the new solar manufacturing hub. The facility will contribute to Egypt's growing export capabilities too. By doing so, it will create thousands of local jobs in the process.

EliTe Solar already operates manufacturing facilities in Indonesia and Vietnam. This new hub in Egypt will further expand the company’s global presence and production capacity.

Egypt’s Vision for Renewable Energy

This solar development aligns with Egypt’s goal of becoming a leader in renewable energy. By building this solar manufacturing hub, Egypt is taking a significant step toward achieving this vision. EliTe Solar’s facility will boost local supply chains and improve solar manufacturing standards in the Middle East and North Africa.

Elite Solar's Focus on Exporting Solar Products

EliTe Solar will export a large part of the production from this new manufacturing hub abroad. The United States is one of the main export markets. So, as global demand for renewable energy grows, the company plans to increase production in Egypt. The company will focus on integrated solar manufacturing. This will help them produce high-quality, efficient solar energy products.

Future Plans for Photovoltaic Manufacturing

EliTe Solar's chairman, Derek Liu, emphasised the importance of this venture. “This venture will position Egypt as a central hub for photovoltaic manufacturing in the Middle East and North Africa," he said. Liu noted that this facility would help revolutionise local supply chains and solar manufacturing standards.

Economic Impact of Solar Manufacturing in Egypt

This solar project in Egypt will bring major economic benefits. It will create thousands of jobs and strengthen local industries. Egypt will also boost its solar technology exports. EliTe Solar can easily reach many markets because of Egypt’s strategic location in the Suez Special Economic Zone. This advantage will make the facility more efficient and increase its sales.

Likewise, the project will raise Egypt's profile in the global renewable energy market. So Egypt is set to become a key player in solar manufacturing and renewable energy solutions.

An Exciting New Solar Manufacturing Hub in Egypt

EliTe Solar's new solar manufacturing hub in Egypt is a big step forward for both the company and the country. Built in phases, the facility will produce high-efficiency solar cells and modules. With Egypt's location in the Suez Special Economic Zone, the hub has easy access to important markets. This makes it an ideal spot for such a large project like solar manufacturing. So with this in mind, the project offers an attractive opportunity. The investment will not only boost Egypt’s economy and create jobs. But It will also help Egypt become a leader in renewable energy on a global scale.
