Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has signed an agreement of intention with Germany’s Siemens to begin studies for implementing a pilot project for the production of green hydrogen in Egypt.
The deal agreement was signed by Joe Kaeser, Siemens’ CEO, and Mohammed Shaker, Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the pilot project will be developed with the future possibility of developing green hydrogen for exporting.
Egypt’s Energy Strategy 2035 is to be updated to include green hydrogen, according to the ministry.
