EDF receives approval for 50MW UK solar project
Sutton Bridge photovoltaic (PV) solar project will be EDF Renewables' first large-scale solar project in the UK
France’s EDF Renewables has received approval for its planned 50MW photovoltaic (PV) solar project at Sutton Bridge, UK.
The 49.9MW solar project will be EDF Renewable’s first large-scale solar project in the UK. The plant will be located next to the Sutton Bridge power station in eastern England.
EDF submitted planning approval with South Holland district council in December last year.
EDF Renewables solar head Ben Fawcett said: “We are very pleased to receive planning consent for this project which we believe is a great site for solar as it is suitably sunny and has a nearby grid connection,” said Ben Fawcett, head of solar for EDF Renewables.
