Dubai seeks adviser for phase 6 solar project

Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has invited consultancy firms to submit proposals for the advisory mandate on the photovoltaic (PV) solar sixth phase of the Mohamed bin Rashid (MBR) solar park
Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has invited consultancy firms to submit proposals for the advisory mandate on the photovoltaic (PV) solar sixth phase of the Mohamed bin Rashid (MBR) solar park.
Consultants have until 28 July to submit proposals for the advisory role. As with the second to fifth phases, the sixth phase will be developed under an independent power producer (IPP) model.
In August last year, the first 300MW of the 900MW PV solar fifth phase of the MBR park was commissioned.
Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) signed the power purchase agreement (PPA) with Saudi Arabia’s Acwa Power for the 900MW fifth phase project in April in 2020. The PPA was signed for a levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) tariff of $cents1.6953/kWh, which was one of the lowest PV solar tariffs in the world.
The $564m project reached financial close in September 2020.
